tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27 of 1976. He grew up in southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School, where he was a star athlete on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in these sports at University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he broke the record of the school bowl by catching nine times. Gonzalez then led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament just a few months later. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was selected at number 13 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was playing for the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. The Chiefs sold Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL season, he completed at least 59 passes per season.
