To break the image she appeared partially clothed in the cover photo in Gear magazine. The Jessica's fans were furious at this act. When she performed in the 6th season on 7th Heaven, Jessica left. The film Ulee's Gold and her outstanding performance in it as teenager Casey Jackson brought instant fame to her. The film actually earned her the award for Best New Actress in Supporting. Summer Catch, the comedy film where she appears has proven her outstanding acting talents. Although she delivered a stellar acting performance in the film, Rules of Attraction didn't receive much attention. People were then attracted to her performance on The Texas Chainshaw Massacre. The suspense films she has acted in has proved her an actor of serious stature.
